While Marloc has a human body, a human soul and a human mind, he is not. Common sense will tell you something's wrong, and quickly, though exactly what may be much harder to place.

Marloc controls the living, the flesh, once he's got himself in them. This could be used subtly, to induce sensations to the body- the body could be used like a puppet- the body's (and the brain's) chemistry could be changed over time. Or, Marloc could use the body for something else, reshape it- make the blood into tassels- the bone into furniture- melt it all to scrap ooze, to make into something else.

Marloc can only use someone's flesh by infecting them: typically through a kiss, with the intensity and acuteness of control depending on other contact. He controls from afar- though there is such a thing as too far, and once you're a few thousand miles or a dimension away from him, he can't do anything even if you are infected. Marloc can keep control over dead flesh, but can only infect when it's alive. Infection can last months, even years.
His connection and control can be stymied with drugs, other changes to the infected individual's body, or physical trauma to Marloc himself.
